4 Prolific Prep Alumni advance in March Madness

Coleman Hawkins (Illinois), Yves Missi (Baylor), Nate Bittle (Oregon), and coach Nick Sullivan (Gonzaga) all advanced to the round of 32 with victories in the first two days of play in the NCAA mens basketball tournament.

Hawkins and his Illini teammates defeated Morehead State 85-69 Thursday to advance and play Duquesne in the second round. Hawkins had 10 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, with 1 block and 2 steals. The Game is in Omaha Nebraska at 5:40pm MST.

Yves Missi had 9 points with 3 rebounds and a steal in the big 92-67 win over Colgate in the first round and advance to play the Clemson Tigers in Memphis Sunday afternoon. Clemson is a 6 seed coming off a big win over New Mexico.

The Oregon Ducks beat South Carolina 87-73 in a bit of an upset Thursday evening in first round action. Prolific Prep alum Nate Bittle sat the game out with an injury. Coach Dana Altman and his team will take on #3 seed Creighton in the second round Saturday. Creighton knocked off Akron 77-60 in its first game of the tourney.

Coach Nick Sullivan and his Gonzaga team beat McNeese State 86-65 in their first round game of the NCAA tournament. The Zags will now tag on #4 seed Kansas Saturday afternoon. This will be a good showdown between two top teams in the tournament. Coach Bill Self and his Jayhawks had a tough win over #13 seed Samford Thursday night.

The Auburn Tigers were upset in the first round by Yale 78-76. The Ivy League champions played the Tigers tough the entire game winning in the last minute of the game. Aden Holloway from Prolific Prep and his teammates finish the season with a 27-8 record and were the SEC Tournament Champions.
