Coach Bernardi set to begin year two

Coach Ryan Bernardi had a great run in his first season as the Prolific Prep head basketball coach in 2023. The team lost only two games the entire season and made it to the GEICO Nationals in Fort Myers Florida. The goal of winning a national championship fell short, but he is determined to get the title this season. Prolific Prep has two returning players from last years team, Tyran Stokes and Alek Giotopoulos -Moore, but has an enormous amount of talented newcomers coming to Napa Valley.

Coach Bernardi and his staff have added AJ Dybantsa, Zoom Diallo, Aiden Sherrill, Mikey Lewis, and Winters Grady.

Dybantsa is the #1 player in the ESPN class of 2025, and is a huge addition to this years team. AJ is small forward from Brockton Massachusetts who can handle the ball, hit three point shots and is a great defender. Combined with Tyran Stokes the #1 player in the ESPN class of 2026 Prolific Prep has a super solid duo for the next two seasons in the paint and beyond. This past summer they teamed together to help the USA mens 16u team win the FIBA Americas Championship gold medal.

The Crew has four new senior transfers this season Derrion Reid, Zoom Diallo, Aiden Sherrill, and Mikey Lewis. Reid is 6′ 7″ forward ranked #9 by ESPN in the class of 2024 who can run the break, battle down under the boards and drain three’s. Diallo is a point guard from Washington ranked #25 in ESPN top 100 who will have plenty of talented targets to get the ball to on the break. He is a talented ball handler with great court vision. Sherrill the #21 player in the ESPN top 100 is a 6′ 11″ big who plays great defense and can run the break as well as hit shots from anywhere on the court. Lewis is a local player from Oakland California who is coming home from Colorado to play his senior season near family. Mikey is a point guard who could start on any team in country and will add depth to the already strong lineup.

Winters Grady a junior from Oregon rounds out the top newcomers for Prolific Prep this season. Winters is deadly from behind the arc and hustles everywhere on the court and gives the team a spark every time he comes off the bench.

Coach Bernardi and the Crew begin the season at home on November 4th and 5th with home games against TMG Prep. The boys tip off at 1pm on Saturday the 4th and 3 pm on Sunday the 5th.
